Job Title: CNC Operator
Location: Bloomington, IL 61704
Duration: 3 Months Contract-to-Hire
Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our team in Bloomington, IL. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating CNC machines, interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring high-quality production standards. This role offers the potential to transition into a full-time position based on performance.
Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining requirements and specifications
Set up and operate CNC machines, including mounting workpieces using chucks, fixtures, or centers
Start and monitor machining operations, ensuring accuracy in feed rates, speeds, and dimensional adjustments
Review numerical control displays and compare with process sheets to maintain precision
Make necessary tooling and size offset adjustments
Understand and apply G/M codes for machine operations
Perform first article inspection and conduct periodic quality checks on production parts
Organize materials for upcoming jobs during machine cycles
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including machines and surrounding areas
Ensure workspace and equipment are clean and ready for the next shift
Accurately complete timecards, process sheets, tub cards, and reject tags
Segregate and document rejected or scrap materials appropriately
Independently perform machine setups with minimal supervision within defined timelines
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as a CNC Operator
Ability to read blueprints, process sheets, and technical drawings
Knowledge of G/M codes and CNC programming basics
Experience with machine setup and tooling adjustments
Strong attention to detail and quality control
Ability to perform first article inspections
Good organizational and documentation skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a manufacturing or mechanical devices environment
Prior experience in contract-to-hire roles
