Position Overview We are seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to support supplier quality, supplier performance, continuous improvement, and risk mitigation activities across the supply base.
The ideal candidate will have experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or a related engineering discipline , with the ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with suppliers to improve process capability, product quality, and overall supplier performance.
This role will contribute to supplier selection and evaluation, material qualification, supplier performance management, receiving inspection, supplier corrective actions, and supplier change management while ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Main Responsibilities
Support the onboarding of suppliers , including supplier validation and readiness activities.
Contribute to supplier improvement plans to address performance gaps.
Collaborate directly with suppliers to improve process capability and product quality .
Track and analyze supplier quality metrics, including:

PPM

Monitor supplier performance and identify quality risks, trends, and systemic issues.
Support supplier performance reviews and follow up on improvement actions.
Investigate supplier-related defects, incoming inspection issues, and field failures .
Own supplier nonconformance management, including containment, resolution, and closure of supplier-related issues.
Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Drive and manage supplier corrective actions, ensuring timely implementation and verification of effectiveness.
Communicate supplier quality issues to appropriate stakeholders and track resolution progress.
Support the development and maintenance of inspection procedures and acceptance criteria .
Assist in optimizing incoming inspection strategies based on quality and product risk.
Provide technical guidance to inspection teams as needed.
Collaborate closely with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality teams.
Provide engineering input to supplier-related quality decisions.
Participate in cross-functional problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
Analyze supplier quality data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Own supplier change management activities, including:
Review of supplier-initiated changes
Risk assessment
Approval
Implementation
Follow-up and verification

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field .
Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
2 4 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Supplier Development, or a related field.
Experience supporting supplier selection and evaluation activities.
Experience with material qualification and supplier performance management .
Knowledge of receiving inspection and supplier quality processes.
Experience with supplier nonconformance, corrective actions, and CAPA.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to analyze supplier quality data and identify trends and risks.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence suppliers and cross-functional teams without direct authority.
Ability to work effectively with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, and external suppliers.
Understanding of quality and regulatory requirements within a regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
Preferred Experience
Supplier Development / Supplier Quality Engineering experience.
Experience in medical device manufacturing or another highly regulated industry.
Experience with supplier corrective action processes.
Knowledge of quality systems and regulatory requirements.
Experience with supplier change management and risk assessment.
Experience with incoming inspection and acceptance criteria development.
