Virtual Part-time School Physical Therapist - PT

Cardiovascular Acute Care Physical Therapist
To evaluate and treat patients with diseases, injuries, disorders, and disabilities, to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance using physical therapy procedures and exercise.
This will be a part-time position on the Cardiovascular Acute Care PT Team. We are looking for therapists interested in a variety of patient populations that include Orthopedic Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Medicine, Cardiology, and Pulmonary Medicine. We have a structured orientation process for each new area with ongoing mentoring by both Senior Therapists and APTA Board Certified Specialists in Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy.
Interpret referrals and ensure necessary precautions are identified so that appropriate physical therapy evaluation and treatment can be provided.
Utilizes independent clinical decision making to progress patients and modify treatment depending upon the patients needs and medical status.
May conduct research under the guidance of a Physical Therapy Director.
May conduct special projects contributing to teaching materials and procedures used in physical therapy.
Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy or basic MS.
Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT).
Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Program and Clinical Internship
Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the State of Michigan.
An Associate or Bachelor's degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position, as well as a necessary doctorate degree in Physical Therapy, and are actively pursuing the appropriate certification/registration/licensure for their profession.
Experience in an acute care setting at an academic medical center or large tertiary hospital; new graduates with strong clinical rotations will be considered.

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Schedule to be determined but will include one weekend day as part of the regular schedule, plus occasional holidays.
