The mission of the Division of Addictions Psychiatry is to advanceresearch, education, and clinical care for patients withaddictions.
The Department of Psychiatry and Division of Addictions Psychiatryare seeking applicants to provide addiction services to patients atVCU Health System and teach addiction psychiatry/medicine.
Provide addictions psychiatry clinical services topatients within the MOTIVATE clinic and on the Addictions ConsultService. This position may also rotate at VCU Health’s ambulatorysites in the community and provide tele-psychiatry services.
Educational effort shall include medical students,residents, fellows, and colleagues in addictions psychiatry andother colleagues where appropriate. Teaching responsibilities alsoshall include preparation and presentation of instructionalmaterials, lectures, evaluative materials, testing and maintenanceof personal professional skills through continuing education,advising, and mentoring trainees, and attendance at GrandRounds
The division is seeking an addiction psychiatrist who canplay an active role in that collaboration in both clinical care andresearch, and eventually take a leadership role in this area.
This position offers the opportunity to participate as aco-investigator in those clinical trials and support and mentorshipto develop an independent research career.
The Division oversees the Virginia HealthPractitioners Monitoring Program (HPMP), which provides monitoringfor healthcare providers in Virginia which allows them to achieveand maintain abstinence from substance use disorders and maintainlicensure. Board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist
