Health Plan Dietitian

Responsibilities

Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions, and current health plans to develop and implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional counseling.

Consult with physicians and health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of the patient.

Advise patients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications, and food selection and preparation.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of meal plans, adjusting as needed based on patient progress and needs.

Collaborate with the healthcare team to plan and implement patient nutritional care.

Educate patients and family members on the role of diet and nutrition in recovery and overall health.

Prepare detailed reports on patient progress and participate in case reviews with healthcare team members.

Required Skills

Strong understanding of nutrition and dietary needs in a healthcare setting.

Excellent communication and counseling skills.

Ability to develop and adhere to case-by-case nutritional plans.

Proficiency in creating and maintaining patient documentation.
