Part-Time Phlebotomist (Temporary)

Job Title: Phlebotomist

Schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Mondays from 6:30 AM to 12:00 PM

Work Environment: High volume office, need extra Phlebotomists on the weekends!

Perform high-volume venipuncture, completing 20-30 or more blood draws per day using primarily straight needles and butterfly needles when required.

Provide clear, courteous explanations of venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures, such as urine or fecal collection, to help patients feel informed and at ease.

Check all test requisitions or computer-generated labels against the script or order to ensure 100% accuracy before processing.

Package specimens properly for transport, following all procedures to maintain specimen quality during transit.

Store specimen samples at the required temperature, place them in appropriate collection containers or tubes, and follow all protocol-specific procedures for transport.

At least 2+ years of phlebotomy experience in a clinical or laboratory setting.

Proven experience performing high-volume blood draws, including 20-30 or more venipunctures per day.

Strong phlebotomy skills using straight needles and butterfly needles.

The environment is fast paced, with periods of extended patient wait times, and requires consistent focus on efficiency, accuracy, and patient care.

You will regularly interact with a diverse patient population, including many pediatric and geriatric patients, and work with standard phlebotomy equipment such as straight needles, butterfly needles, centrifuges, and specimen transport materials.

This is a Contract position based out of Bridgewater, NJ.
