Position: Art Teacher

Franklin Public Schools is seeking an energetic, creative and innovative Middle School Art Teacher. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with the goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects to communicate these objectives to students.

Collaborate with colleagues to examine student data, plan curriculum, and ensure appropriate learning experiences for all students.

Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.

Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.

Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and for the classroom, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in a fair and just manner.

Make provisions for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms and as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement if applicable.

Remain informed of and apply research and trends in content and teaching.

Use data to inform instruction.

Collaborate with colleagues to examine data and plan curriculum and instruction to ensure equitable learning experiences.

Perform other related duties as assigned by building administrators.

Appropriate licensure from the Department of Secondary and Elementary Education.

Successfully pass Criminal Offender (CORI) background check and national fingerprinting screening (CHRI).

Excellent writing and communication skills required.

Experience in public school setting.
