Mechanical Engineer - Instrumentation (NPI + Sustaining) Yoh is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our biotech instrumentation client, supporting new product introduction (NPI) and sustaining engineering efforts for their state-of-the-art platforms. The ideal individual will have strong competency in SolidWorks and expert knowledge of GD&T, with experience supporting mechanical design development, troubleshooting, and documentation for complex instrumentation.Industry: Biotech / InstrumentationLocation: Pleasanton, CAResponsibilitiesSupport mechanical design efforts for NPI and sustaining engineering projects, including development, verification, validation, and production transfer.Work with R&D, manufacturing, and service teams to bring new instrument platforms from prototype to production.Assist in design updates by analyzing field issues, reviewing return material data, and driving improvements to reliability and manufacturability.Support root cause analysis activities and help implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) with internal teams and contract manufacturers.Perform hands-on troubleshooting and evaluation of mechanical, optical, and electromechanical subsystems.Maintain engineering documentation, including BOMs, ECOs, risk assessments, and updates in PLM/ERP systems.Required Skills (Must-Haves)Solidworks, expert knowledge of GD&TMachine shop or hands-on fabrication experience.Familiarity with optics, motion systems, or electromechanical assemblies.Experience with reliability testing (MTBF/MTTR) and FMEA.Working knowledge of Python, Jira, Confluence, Oracle ERP, or Arena PLM.Strong collaboration skills across R&D, operations, supply chain, and service teams.#Yoh’s network of client companies has been employing professionals like you for over 65 years in the U.Join Yoh’s extensive talent community that will provide you with access to Yoh’s vast network of opportunities and gain access to this exclusive opportunity available to you.
