Talent Acquisition Specialist/Recruiter (with DOT experience)

Full-Cycle Recruiting

Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from requisition approval through offer acceptance and onboarding.

Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, workforce planning initiatives, and position requirements.

Develop and execute recruiting strategies to attract qualified candidates for transportation, warehouse, operations, and support positions.

Source candidates through job boards, social media platforms, employee referrals, networking events, career fairs, and community outreach efforts.

Conduct phone screens, interviews, and candidate assessments to evaluate qualifications and cultural fit.

Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers.

Maintain consistent communication with candidates throughout the hiring process.

DOT Recruiting & Compliance Recruit and hire CDL Drivers and other DOT-regulated positions.

Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) hiring requirements and company policies.

Drug and alcohol testing

Partner with safety and transportation teams to ensure all regulatory requirements are met prior to hire.

Maintain accurate documentation related to DOT compliance and hiring records.

Candidate Experience & Onboarding Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment process.

Assist with new hire orientation and onboarding documentation, including: W-4 and state tax forms

Direct deposit enrollment

Company policy acknowledgments

Applicant Tracking & Reporting Maintain accurate candidate records within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and HRIS platforms.

Track recruiting metrics including: Candidate pipeline activity

Generate recruiting reports and provide updates to leadership regarding hiring progress and staffing trends.

Partnership with Operations & Human Resources Collaborate with Human Resources and operational leadership to identify staffing challenges and develop recruiting solutions.

Participate in workforce planning discussions and hiring strategy meetings.

Support employee referral programs and recruiting campaigns.

Assist with employee engagement initiatives and retention efforts.

Provide guidance to hiring managers regarding recruiting best practices and interview processes.

Administrative & Compliance Support Maintain confidential recruiting and employee information.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, DOT, and company employment regulations.

Assist with audits and documentation requests related to recruiting and onboarding activities.

Support special projects and additional Human Resources initiatives as assigned.
