Paramedic - Seasonal, Emergency Department

Responsibilities

Determine donor eligibility; including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).

Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs, manage medical emergencies, assist with Center Physician’s standing orders and transport donors to emergency care facilities.

Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance regarding medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.

Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.

Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health or ER; follow EHS guidance on employee incidents.

Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.

Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT‑Paramedic.

Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.

Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.

Fulfill FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.

Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation & Benefits
U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $23.04 - $31.68. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, and will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements.
