Polacca, Arizona Polacca is an unincorporated community in Navajo County, of northeastern Arizona, United States. It is Hopi-Tewa community on the Hopi Reservation. The town of Polacca is located in northeastern Arizona on the Colorado Plateau. Natural resources on the Colorado Plateau include coal, uranium, petroleum, and natural gas. Polacca is located along Arizona State Route 264 7.5 miles (12.1 km) northeast of the Hopi Second Mesa.

Some famous places to visit nearby include, the Grand Canyon, Homolovi State Park, Canyon de Chelly, Antelope Canyon, San Francisco Peaks, and Meteor Crater.

The Hopi Health Care Center, located in Polacca, Arizona, was built on the Hopi Reservation and serves approximately 7,000 people from both the Hopi and Navajo tribes. The Service Unit site was selected for its central accessibility, where most residents can reach the Center within 35-40 minutes. The Center is JCAHO accredited providing innovative health care services to the areas residents. The ambulatory care setting offers primary and preventative medical services, while the facility offers a 2-bed birthing unit, a 4-bed Medical/Surgical adult/pediatric unit supported by a staff of 12 physicians and 3 physician extenders. Services provided include general family medical care, surgical follow-up, pediatric and obstetric services. An eye clinic, staffed by 2 optometrists, provides refraction and general eye care. Seven dentists are stationed at the Center and at a satellite clinic providing dental services. Major trauma, acute surgical emergencies and high-risk obstetric patients are transported to Tuba City Indian Medical Hospital, Chinle Hospital, Phoenix Indian Medical Center or to several other contracted health facilities.

Requirements (Duties include but are not limited to):

Providing professional nursing care principles, practices and procedures required to assess needs of patients;

Knowledge of pharmaceuticals, their desired effects, side effects, and complications of their use; recognizing adverse signs and symptoms which are not always apparent and to react promptly in emergency situations including the implementation of life saving procedures;

Providing counseling, guidance and health instruction to patients; and

Identifying disease entities in order to recognize complications and therapeutic interventions required.

Provide professional nursing duties according to established professional nursing principles, practices, and procedures in an ICU setting, assessing patient's physical, emotional, spiritual and socio-cultural needs;

Demonstrate skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served; provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care to patients;

Qualifications

Graduated from an accredited nursing program

Must possess a current, valid, unrestricted nursing license in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States.

Must have a minimum of 24 months experience in an emergency department environment during the last 36 months

Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) as approved by the American Heart Association (AHA) is mandatory for all specialties.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification (NRP) preferred

Emergency Nurse Association (ENA) Certification preferred

Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) Certification preferred

Familiar with and use Client Electronis Health Record (EHR)

POP: 9/13/2021 - 9/12/2022; 12 month contract with 4-12 month options. Shift: 12-hours per day, Sun-Sat. Government housing may be available.
