The incumbent provides specialised Tier 2b business operational support and expert functional guidance in SAP-based supply chain management processes.

Job Specific Context
The Office of Supply Chain Management includes the Office of the Assistant Secretary-General for Supply Chain Management, the Logistics Division, the Procurement Division, the Uniformed Capabilities Support Division, Global Service Centre, Aviation Safety Section and the Enabling and Outreach Service (EOS). EOS develops performance metrics, reporting and operational guidance for the continuous improvement of the Umoja supply chain management system across the United Nations Secretariat.
The incumbent will report to the Project Manager and will be a staff member of UNOPS under its full responsibility.
Role Purpose
The Supply Chain Management Specialist is responsible for the management, sustainment and continuous improvement of key supply chain information systems, including Umoja, and for providing specialised system-level business and technical support to ensure efficient operations.
Functions / Key Results Expected
Functions
Provides specialised advice and business operational support (Tier 2b) to users on Umoja supply chain processes, analysing business requirements and defining them into configuration changes, enhancements or new applications; determines application system integration and linkage issues.
Maintains, upgrades or enhances existing user systems; troubleshoots and provides continuing user support, including resolving difficult problems, advising on new techniques, and monitoring transactions to measure performance and continued effectiveness of systems.
Organises and performs unit and integrated testing, designing and utilising test bases; assists users in acceptance testing.
Facilitates communications between the Functional Sub‑Group for Supply Chain, DOS business pillars and client entities to obtain good client feedback.
Provides guidance to, and may supervise, new/junior staff, consultants and others.
Key Results
Manages projects involving feasibility studies, systems analysis, business analysis, design, development of information systems and/or participation as a team member responsible for implementation, sustainment and continuous improvement of Umoja and other supply chain systems.
Develops detailed system and other functional specifications and user documentation for major supply chain systems.
Develops, tests and maintains technology solutions that require integration of many interrelated systems and programme elements; ensures appropriate data security and access controls for local and wide-area issues.
Develops training materials, operating and user manuals; trains staff in Umoja supply chain systems.
Develops change management, user adoption and knowledge transfer plans and ensures appropriate planning, implementation and training of those responsible.
Researches, analyses and evaluates new technologies and makes recommendations for deployment.
Participates in business analysis, technology analysis, testing, reports and papers on systems‑related topics, system requirements and information strategy.

Education Requirements
Required:
Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics, supply chain management, business administration, logistics management or related field with five years of relevant experience, OR
First‑level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in the same fields with seven years of relevant experience.
Experience Requirements
Required:
Experience in planning, design, development and testing of enterprise resource planning systems in supply chain management or logistics modules.
Experience as a functional expert (SAP) in process analysis, improvement and change management of logistics execution, inventory/warehouse management and STO/STR processes for field operations.
Experience creating and managing Business Requirement Documents using Solution Manager (SolMan) and participating in the change governance control process.
Experience as a technical expert in post‑implementation support for Umoja (or similar SAP) supply chain operational sustainment, such as physical inventory reconciliation and optimisation and end‑to‑end supply chain process review.
Desired:
Experience providing SAP Tier 2b production support for supply chain management modules.
Experience in managing and configuring master data in supply chain management.
Language Requirements
