Dietary Aid - Weekend Shift

We are looking to hire a Dietary Assistant!

As a Dietary Assistant at MercyOne, you will be responsible for completing and processing patient menus and nourishments to assure compliance with diet orders. Responsible for using computer software systems to ensure patient safety with dietary restrictions and accuracy of meal tickets. Provides proper phone etiquette and customer service for all age groups from infants to elderly.

Reviews Electronic Medical Record to identify level of nutrition risk needed following guidelines established by Clinical Dietetics staff.

Uses dietary software program to assure patient safety and meals are served in compliance with current diet order.

Interprets information and reports generated from dietary software for verification of patient menus.

Responsible for generating patient meal tickets, patient listings and requested patient reports using dietary software.

Answer telephone using good customer service skills and accurately communicates messages.

Full time, 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)

Varied shifts based on departmental needs

Weekend and holiday rotation required

Maintains a professional, collaborative work environment to foster a positive public image for MercyOne Medical Center.

Knows and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety, food safety, and medical information (i.e. Skill in operating office equipment.

Skill in utilizing a personal computer and related software.

Ability to collect data, keeps accurate records, and prepares reports.

Must have comprehensive knowledge of HACCP, principles of food safety, and sanitation.

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
