Human Resources Generalist - Payroll/Recruitment (Full Time)

Atrium is seeking on behalf of our client a HR Generalist based in Asbury Park, NJ .

Position: HR Generalist

Employment Type: Full-time

The HR Generalist will serve as the organization’s dedicated HR professional, managing the full employee lifecycle for office and field employees. Manage full-cycle recruiting for office and field roles

Administer union personnel onboarding and ensure proper documentation and classification

Process payroll, including union payroll

Maintain personnel records and update HR policies and employee handbook

Ensure compliance with federal and New Jersey employment laws and federal-contractor obligations

Support employee engagement, recognition, and communication initiatives

Serve as a resource for employee relations, investigations, and conflict resolution

Assist with performance management processes and documentation

Coordinate workers’ compensation claims and OSHA recordkeeping

5+ years of progressive HR generalist experience, ideally as a sole HR practitioner or in a small HR team

Experience with payroll processing and HRIS systems, preferably UKG

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)

Background in employee engagement and culture-building initiatives

Familiarity with union labor processes and compliance

Ability to identify and implement process improvements

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred

Professional HR certification (SHRM or HRCI) a plus
