POSITION PURPOSE

To manage the collection process of loans where one or more individuals have passed awaywhile projecting a professional company image through phone and email interaction and occasionally through in-person meetings. Performance of the candidate will include working with legal counsel on demand letters; opening probate cases; monitoring probate cases; analyzing estate assets and issues and making collection strategy recommendations to management. The candidate will also be responsible for assisting the Director of Special Assets with other projects. The position will report to the Director of Special Assets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Work with local offices to collect death certificates, Letters of Testamentary, Letters of Administration and/or other related information to a decedent.
Work with attorneys to send demand letters and open probate cases for real estate loans where there are none.
Prepare and send demand letters, acceleration letters and offset letters where appropriate.
Work with various departments on identifying and submitting Successor in Interest requests.
Document collection efforts on the collection system.
Assist Director of Special Assets as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent experience.
Required Knowledge: Must possess basic knowledge of loan and account documentation and business entity documentation.
Knowledge of estate and trust documentation is preferred.
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of banking experience. Collection and /or account documentation experience preferred.
Skills/Abilities: Moderate computer application skills; including Microsoft Office products such as
Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to quickly assess problem situations and implement solutions to resolve same.
Basic understanding of the legal process
Maintain professionalism when communicating with heirs and others.
Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and implement effective negotiation skills.
Good organizational skills, or ability to prioritize and complete various tasks within deadlines.
Ability to multi-task.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION TALKING:

Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

REPETITIVE MOTION:

Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists. hands, and/or fingers.

AVERAGE VISUAL ABILITIES.

Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.

PHYSICAL STRENGTH:

Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally. (Almost all Office jobs.)

WORKING CONDITIONS NONE:

No hazardous significantly unpleasant conditions (such as in a typical office).

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply Common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions and to deal with problems involving a few variables. Ability to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.

MATHEMATICS ABILITY:

Ability to perform basic math skills. use decimals to compute ratios, percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

Ability to read a variety of books, magazines, instruction manuals, atlases, and encyclopedias. Ability to prepare memos, reports, and essays using proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar. Ability to communicate distinctly with appropriate pauses and emphasis, correct pronunciation (or sign equivalent), and variation in word order present, perfect, and future tenses.
