Social Worker-Elder Abuse Prevention
Lifespan is a trusted, mission-driven, regional nonprofit dedicated to helping older adults take on the challenges and opportunities of longer life. Non-exempt, full-time (37.5 hours/week)

HOURLY RATE: $24.00

Provides counseling and case management for clients of the Elder Abuse Prevention Program and their families. Presents educational and training seminars on elder mistreatment and related subjects to professionals and other groups within the community.
Program Operations

Provides information and referral services.
Provides comprehensive assessments of the medical/social needs of older adults and their caregivers/family in their home environment.
Conducts investigations of elder abuse allegations in collaboration with community partners such as Adult Protective Services and law enforcement.
Provides support for special projects of the Elder Abuse Prevention Program.
Conducts community presentations and professional training on topics relating to the identification of elder mistreatment and related topics.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge and skills by attending ongoing conferences, trainings, and seminars with the approval of the Division Leader and within the financial resources of the program.
Bachelor’s degree in social work or equivalent degree required, Master’s degree in social work or equivalent degree preferred.Two years in social work, with at least one year of experience in gerontological social work or aging services preferred.
Travel within the Finger Lakes region required.

• A portion of the work is performed at a desk or at a personal computer station.
• Verbal, written and telephone communication skills are required.
• Group training and public speaking skills required.
• Strong written and computer skills needed.

Salary/Hourly Rate
