Summary

Position located in the Food and Beverage Division of the MWR Department at Naval Air Station Pensacola, FL. The incumbent prepares assigned area before opening the dining room, familiarizes with the menu, records guest selections, turns orders to kitchen, serves dishes and beverages, clears and cleans tables, and resets for the next guest. Minimum age requirement applies.

Duties

Set tables with cloths, silverware, glasses, condiments, napkins, and decorations.

Prepare backup tables with supplements such as butter, ice, coffee, fruit, juices, salads, and breads.

Familiarize with the daily menu, offer suggestions if requested, record guest selections and submit orders to kitchen.

Serve side dishes such as salads, fruit, bread, wine, or other beverages.

Clear and clean tables and immediate area after meals and reset table for next guests.

Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

Meet federal employment suitability requirements and pass a background investigation.

Pass E‑Verify employment verification check.

Complete Personal Identity Verification via Form I‑9.

May be required to pass pre‑employment examinations.

Valid state driver’s license.

Salary sent via Direct Deposit.

Selective Service registration for eligible males.

May sell alcoholic beverages; must be at least 18.

Work requires use of both arms, hands, and legs; prolonged standing, walking, reaching, and lifting objects up to 20 lbs.

Work inside with adequate lighting and heat; exposure to cuts, bruises, and slippery floors in kitchen.

Qualifications

Applicants must have sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform duties. A minimum of 6 months experience in a related field is required. Experience includes volunteer and part‑time work. Resume must detail duties and total hours per week.

Skill to serve beverages and meals properly and in sequence.

Knowledge of food handling techniques.

Knowledge of menu composition and beverage selection.

Skill in proper table‑setting techniques.

Basic math for tabulating checks.

Ability to recognize intoxicated patrons when serving alcohol.

Key Requirements / Conditions of Employment

Males must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
