Head of Product Management & Innovation

Search Solution Group is seeking a Product Manager on behalf of our client, a firm specializing in designing, managing, and advising on retirement plans for small and medium-sized businesses. This role focuses on new product development, innovation, and early-stage concept creation within wealth and retirement solutions. The Product Manager will lead discovery, ideation, and validation of new offerings, working cross-functionally to evaluate vendors, develop business cases, and bring new concepts to market in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Lead discovery, ideation, and early-stage development of new products and services targeting small to medium-sized business owners and affluent employees.
Identify net-new wealth and retirement product opportunities.
Evaluate third-party vendors and software solutions for licensing and integration.
Compare vendor capabilities against business and regulatory requirements.
Partner with legal and compliance teams to finalize contracts and agreements.
Track project progress, outcomes, and success metrics for new product initiatives.
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, legal, and technology teams to execute product strategy.
Measure performance of pilots and refine offerings based on data and feedback.
Work within a highly dynamic environment with shifting priorities and evolving strategy.
Bachelor's degree required.
Advanced degrees in Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in financial services, retirement planning, wealth management, or regulated industries preferred.

Experience evaluating and selecting third-party vendors and software platforms.
Strong business case development and presentation skills.
Familiarity with digital platforms and financial or wealth management systems.
IDEO-related training) are a plus.
Understanding of retirement planning and wealth management products.
Familiarity with regulated financial services environments.
Knowledge of software licensing models and vendor evaluation processes.
Awareness of digital product ecosystems and financial technology platforms.
Understanding of product lifecycle management and innovation frameworks.
Strong ability to operate in ambiguity and build structure in new, undefined roles.
Highly analytical with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments with shifting priorities.
Strong collaboration skills across legal, compliance, and technical teams.
