Director of Emergency Services - Acute Care Hospital, Northwest Alabama Region

Lead the largest and busiest Emergency Department in the region. This is a rare opportunity to take the helm of a high‑acuity, high‑volume ED at a 275‑bed acute care hospital that serves as the primary referral center for major trauma cases across Northwest Alabama.

As Director of Emergency Services, you will oversee a 24/7, 36‑bed department supported by a collaborative team of 70 RNs and nursing support staff, caring for approximately 46,000 patients annually, one of the largest and busiest emergency departments within a national health system.

The department also includes an eight‑bed specialty unit dedicated to senior patients, offering a calmer care environment with specially trained staff and access to a gerontologist for coordinated, patient‑centered care across the continuum.

This hospital is a Certified Chest Pain Center and a recognized Primary Stroke Center of Excellence, and offers the community's only open‑heart surgery program along with a full line of women's and children's services.

Support provider and staff recruitment, retention, and engagement.

Partner with physicians and advanced practice providers to enhance care coordination, patient experience, and service delivery.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

A minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in Emergency Services.

Experience with budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation in an acute care setting.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and lead performance‑improvement initiatives.
