- You will coordinate staffing on a shift by shift basis.
- You will be responsible for scheduling of personnel in the department. Schedule completed two weeks prior to start date.
- You will manage day to day operations within the department.
- You will ensure adequate supplies are available for staff.
- You will ensure all equipment is accounted for and functioning on a daily basis.
- You will actively participate in the Regional Advisor Council's (RAC) Committees as assigned.
- You will plan, develop, implement and evaluate trauma quality improvement activities on a monthly basis in coordination with Trauma / Education Coordinator.
- You will review department and trauma policies on an annual basis. Develop new policies as required or needed.
- You will plan, develop, implement and evaluate to maintain current trauma certification in coordination with Trauma / Education Coordinator.
- You will be knowledgeable with 100% compliance with Core Measures in the Emergency Department (evidence based best demonstrated practice).
- You will be knowledgeable with 100% compliance with Premium Credit (best demonstrated practice).
- You will practice four hours of clinical/bedside nursing a week.
- You will accompany Level 1 Trauma patients transported to RETGH in accordance with physician orders.
- You will participate and attend all unit meetings.
- You will share "call" with the Emergency Department Director and Trauma / Education Coordinator.
- You will serve as staff and/or charge nurse when needed.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
- Trauma Nursing Core Course Registered Nurse
- Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma
