RN-Nursing Unit (Full Time)

Job Responsibilities

Compliance - Patient Services Staff: Sustain a working understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Support leadership in compliance efforts to meet and sustain the regulatory compliance of the department and hospital. Monitor safety and departmental policies, ensure certifications and Safety College requirements are fulfilled timely, work with managers, nurse council, and magnet representatives to share safety best practices, and communicate concerns to leadership.

Uses systems thinking: Coordinate patient and family care through the unit, support leadership to meet regulatory compliance, monitor safety policies, and communicate concerns.

Clinical judgment when performing caring practices: Collect clinical data, follow algorithms and protocols, document care plans and outcomes, anticipate future needs, use age‑specific concepts, support patient and family learning, and evaluate effectiveness.

Clinical inquiry & performance review to improve practice: Follow guidelines, implement research‑based practices, recognize when to seek help, engage in self‑appraisal and peer review, and participate in safety best practice evaluation.

Collaborate with team using shared decision making: Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, shared governance, and implement council decisions.

Interprofessional Practice: Integrate the Interprofessional Practice Model (IPM) into all aspects of practice.

Exhibit advocacy, moral agency, and response to inclusion: Represent patients, assess ethical conflicts, make decisions based on rules, and incorporate culturally inclusive concepts into care.

Patient Care - Age Specific and Culturally Inclusive: Integrate age‑specific and culturally inclusive concepts into patient care.

Job Qualifications

Associate/Diploma prepared RNs from ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA accredited institutions: 2+ years of experience. If hired without a BSN or MSN, must enroll in a BSN or MSN program within one year of hire and complete within five years.

Preferred: BSN or MSN from ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA accredited institutions.

Active Ohio RN license; may be required to obtain other state licensure.

Foreign graduates must have license validated through TruMerit and the Ohio Board of Nursing code for foreign graduates.
