Physical Therapist Assistant

To administer physical therapy patient treatment programs under the supervision and direction of a physical therapist.
Provide treatment under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, following focused treatment plans based on established goals.
Completes patient care and billing documentation according to established procedures.
Instruct patients in physical therapy activities and in the use of equipment.
Assist in orientation and training of new staff and volunteers
Supervise physical therapy assistant students.
An Associate's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
Current licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the State of Michigan.
Current CPR and First Aid certification.

• 3-5 years of outpatient orthopedic and/or sports medicine experience
• Proficiency in implementation of therapeutic exercise and manual treatment interventions
• A collaborative mindset and positive attitude to contribute to a high-performing multidisciplinary sports medicine team

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
