Pay Rate: $30.00-$32.00 / Hour (USD)
Shift / Schedule: Night Shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (3x12 Hours); Every Other Weekend required; Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed

Job Summary
This is a Medical-Surgical travel/contract LPN position on units 5400/5500 at a 528-bed acute care teaching facility in Rochester, NY. The role requires the LPN to take their own patient assignment with the support of an RN in a Medical/Telemetry care setting serving patients with conditions including COPD exacerbation, infections, failure to thrive, and social issues.
Key Responsibilities
Take own patient assignment with the support of an RN
Perform vital signs, pain assessment, intake/output monitoring, isolation precautions, physical restraints, specimen labeling, oxygen administration via nasal cannula, feeding tube management, telemetry monitoring, and 12-lead EKG
Perform medication administration (oral, IM, SQ, NG/G-tube, ear and eye drops), IV therapy with pumps, and blood glucose monitoring
Perform wound care basics (simple dressings, JP/Hemovac drains), bathing and mouth care, Foley catheter insertion (male/female), clean catch urine collection, and communication of status changes to RN/MD in a MS/Tele care setting
Float within skillset as required
Required Skills

• Acute Care experience within the last 2 years
• Vital signs, pain assessment, intake/output monitoring
• Isolation precautions and physical restraints
• Specimen labeling
• Oxygen administration via nasal cannula
• Feeding tube management
• Telemetry monitoring
• 12-lead EKG
• Medication administration (oral, IM, SQ, NG/G-tube, ear and eye drops)
• IV therapy with pumps
• Blood glucose monitoring
• Wound care basics (simple dressings, JP/Hemovac drains)
• Bathing and mouth care

• EPIC charting (required)

Education Requirements
Active New York Single State LPN license required (NY is not Compact; pending license not accepted)
BLS certification required
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (3x12 Hours)
Every other weekend required
Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed
Patient ratios: 1:5-6
Floating required within skillset
Scrub color: Any combination of navy blue and white
Call-off policy: The client may cancel (call off) up to three shifts during a 13-week contract period without incurring charges for the canceled hours

First-time travelers accepted
Locals accepted for LPNs at reduced rate

Active New York Single State LPN license required prior to placement - pending license is NOT accepted
