Institutional Giving Manager
Reports to: Director of Development
Classification: Exempt - Full Time
Working Hours: Standard hours with night and weekend hours expected for special events
Working Location: Hybrid Boston - Majority onsite in Boston-based office, with some remote flexibility and statewide travel

Mass Mentoring Partnership (MMP) is a dynamic statewide nonprofit organization committed to ensuring that every young person in MA has access to quality mentoring relationships, regardless of who they are or where they live.
An affiliate of The National Mentoring Partnership (MENTOR), MMP is part of a national effort that helps grassroots organizations foster quality mentoring relationships by producing research for the field, shaping policy change through advocacy, and driving public awareness on the impact of mentoring for young people.

Mass Mentoring Partnership (MMP) is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven Institutional Giving Manager to lead and grow the organization's foundation, corporate, and government fundraising portfolio.
Reporting to the Director of Development, the Institutional Giving Manager will be responsible for cultivating institutional funders, developing compelling proposals, stewarding existing partners, and identifying new funding opportunities that advance MMP's mission. This position plays a critical role in securing philanthropic investments that strengthen mentoring and youth-serving organizations across Massachusetts; helping meet MMP’s annual revenue goal of $2.5 million.
The successful candidate is an exceptional relationship builder and strategic thinker who is energized by building connections across the philanthropic, corporate, and community landscape. This role requires an active external presence—representing MMP at events, networking opportunities, and community gatherings to cultivate relationships and expand the organization's institutional funding pipeline.
Institutional Fundraising

Develop and implement an annual strategy to grow foundation, corporate, and government revenue.
Manage a portfolio of institutional funders through all stages of the fundraising cycle, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and renewal.
Represent MMP externally by attending philanthropic, corporate, and community events; cultivate new relationships and identify opportunities that strengthen the institutional giving pipeline.
Build and maintain relationships with foundation program officers, corporate giving representatives, and public-sector funders.
Write compelling letters of inquiry, grant proposals, sponsorship proposals, reports, and supporting materials.
Ethically and responsibly use AI-enabled tools to enhance research, content development, and administrative efficiency while maintaining quality, accuracy, and originality of all work products.
Partner with program staff to gather outcomes, budgets, stories, and evaluation data.
Manage grant reporting schedules and ensure timely submission of all required reports.
Coordinate site visits, meetings, presentations, and funder communications.
Corporate Partnerships

Cultivate corporate partnerships and sponsorship opportunities by building relationships with business leaders, attending relevant networking events, and identifying opportunities to align corporate priorities with MMP's mission.
Develop customized partnership proposals that align business objectives with MMP's mission.
Maintain a comprehensive grants calendar and institutional fundraising pipeline.
Analyze fundraising performance and identify opportunities for portfolio growth.
Monitor trends in philanthropy, education, workforce development, mentoring, and youth development.
Collaborate with the Development Communications Specialist to develop compelling case statements, impact reports, and donor communications.
Partner with the Manager of Development Operations to maintain accurate donor and gift records in the CRM and ensure timely, accurate gift acknowledgments and thank-you letters.
Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising and engagement events, including Cheers to Mentoring, Mentoring Night at Fenway, the Business Community Breakfast, and other special events; Assist with organizational fundraising initiatives as needed
Bachelors Degree in relevant field with 4 years of experience or a Master’s Degree in relevant field with 2 years experience preferred. Minimum of 8 - 10 years of experience in Nonprofit development.

Demonstrated success securing five and six-figure foundation, corporate, and/or government grants.
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
Strong project management with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
Experience developing proposal budgets and grant reports.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Experience using donor databases or CRM systems (Salesforce).
Knowledge of and passion for advancing equity in youth development, education, mentoring, and workforce development sectors.
Experience with statewide or intermediary nonprofit organizations.
Google Gemini, ChatGPT, Grammarly AI) and the ability to use them ethically and effectively to support fundraising.
