Position Summary Manages all warehouse activities. Manages the warehouse ensuring the receipt, co-ordination and safety of goods coming through a warehouse. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Performs a variety of complicated tasks in all aspects of the warehouse operation. Leads and directs the work of others. Responsible for completing daily shift paperwork.
Assigns workers to specific duties based on work load and shipping schedules.
Reviews and updates operational procedures as necessary and ensures they are communicated to and understood by the warehouse associates.
Tracks productivity and qualify performance by individual, function, and department.
Works with Inventory Control to ensure the highest level of inventory accuracy possible.
Advises employees on handling of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommend remedial actions to resolve.
Ensuring all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Managing People - Includes staff in planning, decision-making, facilitating and process improvement; Provides regular performance feedback; Solicits and applies customer feedback (internal and external); Fosters quality focus in others; Reacts well under pressure; Uses equipment and materials properly.
Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Qualifications Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Excel Spreadsheet software and MS Word Processing software and MS Outlook.
Other Skills and Abilities Spanish is helpful, but not necessary.
