Barista PositionThe Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, specialty beverages, and light food items while providing exceptional guest service in a fast-paced environment. This position creates a welcoming atmosphere for guests, processes transactions accurately, maintains cleanliness and food safety standards, and contributes to outstanding guest experience by delivering prompt, friendly, and efficient service.High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.Six (6) months of previous work experience required.Previous barista, food service, hospitality, customer service, or retail experience preferred.This employer is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, or any other protected status under the Missouri Human Rights Act or applicable federal law.Employment with this organization is at-will and may be terminated by either party at any time, with or without cause or notice.Required to provide documents to show the applicant is eligible to work in the United States.SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES:NoneCOMMUNICATION:Makes efforts to keep informed of company information and communications by reviewing property bulletin boards, digital signage, and company newsletter.Effectively communicates concerns and information to supervisor and listens to communication from supervisor.Effectively relates ideas for improvements to supervisor and management in accordance with chain of command.DEPARTMENT OPERATIONS:Take food and beverage orders accurately, paying close attention to guest preferences and special requests.Prepare and serve coffee, espresso-based beverages, teas, and other menu items according to established recipes and quality standards.Serve beverages and prepared food items promptly while ensuring exceptional guest service.Provide exceptional guest service by greeting guests, answering questions, and addressing concerns professionally.Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems and handle cash and credit card transactions accurately.Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, equipment, dining areas, and workstations.Adhere to all company policies.Ensure an adequate supply of clean cups, mugs, plates, utensils, and serving materials throughout each shift.Monitor inventory levels and restock products and supplies as needed to support daily operations.Inspect coffee brewing and beverage preparation equipment to ensure proper operation and promptly report maintenance or repair needs.Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, health, and company policies and procedures.GUEST SERVICE:Provides excellent internal and external guest services, always treating internal and external guests with courtesy and consideration.Cooperates and communicates with all fellow employees, always exhibiting mutual respect and consistently projecting a positive, helpful image/attitude.REGULATORY COMPLIANCE:Follows all federal, state, and local occupational safety and health regulations (OSHA standards).Complies with food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations when preparing or serving food and beverages.Read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Read Company or departmental reports, newsletters, and documents.Must obtain and maintain any food handler permits or certifications required by applicable law or company policy.Ability to obtain alcohol service certification if the location serves alcoholic beverages.Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and beverage presentation.Ability to operate espresso machines, grinders, and beverage equipment.Protect the Company's value by keeping information confidential.Perform assigned tasks under limited supervision. Work well alone or within a team.Prepare written documents and complete reports as required.Utilize computer with an entry skill level.Respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, guests, regulatory agencies, and others.Occasional travel between company properties may be required.Maintain physical condition and stamina appropriate to performance of assigned duties.and developing or maintaining professional networks.Standing for up to 8 hours or more per shift.Frequent lifting and carrying of beverage supplies.Work is typically performed within a coffee shop setting.Ability to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on operational needs.The employee may be exposed to chemicals and hazardous material.The employee may be exposed to risks associated with the use of tools/machinery.The employee may be exposed to risks associated with travel between properties and back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands.
