Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Night Shift)
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Unit Information
Unit: MICU (Medical Intensive Care Unit)
Job Responsibilities
Provide high-quality care to critically ill patients.
Perform various medical procedures, including but not limited to chest tubes, tracheostomy care, GI scopes, intubations, central line placements, arterial line placements, NG tube insertions, and Foley catheterizations.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation using the Meditech system.
Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in Texas (Temporary licenses will not be accepted).
Minimum of 2-3 years of ICU experience required.
Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
NIH Stroke Certification.
Preferred Skills
Experience in Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and/or Medical-Surgical ICU (MSICU).
Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).
Familiarity with Meditech documentation system.
Unit Guidelines
All staff members are required to adhere to the following guidelines:
Clock in no later than 6:45 PM/AM to avoid being marked tardy.
Take a full 30-minute lunch break during shifts.
Floating may be required based on staffing needs.
Dress Code
Staff are expected to maintain a professional appearance, which includes:
Scrub Color: Navy scrub top and pants; navy or white scrub jacket.
Clean and neat grooming for hair, with no extreme styles or colors.
Facial hair must be clean and neatly trimmed.
Tattoos should be covered whenever possible; visible body art will be addressed individually.
Visible piercings, other than ear piercings, are prohibited.
