Transit Systems Engineer

The Systems Engineer provides systemwide design deliverables for railroad and transit vehicle movements. This position offers a unique opportunity to interact with team members across the entire organization, working on highly sophisticated project deliverables. The role is responsible for defining system requirements, interfaces and performance criteria to ensure the proper development, integration and implementation of signal systems while ensuring operational and safety objectives for transit systems.
Perform block design calculations including safe braking analysis.
Perform traction power return current analysis to ensure broken rail protection.
Train Performance Calculator Operation
Assist with the preparation and delivery of technical presentations to customers
conceptual design, preliminary design, final design) to verify alignment with project and operational objectives.
Requirements & Configuration Management
Validate customer, regulatory, and operational inputs and translate them into clear system engineering outputs prior to design delivery.
Review procurement and vendor submittals to verify compliance with system and project requirements.
Engineering Analysis & Technical Support
Perform system-level and electrical circuit analysis to support novel or non-standard design architectures.
Evaluate electrical equipment and product selections for compliance with technical specifications and system performance requirements.
Analyze data collected from field surveys and testing activities to support troubleshooting, validation, and system performance assessments.
Data Analysis experience using Excel, MATLAB, Python, C, C++, etc
Utilize project collaboration and document control tools (e.g., Box, Smartsheet, Microsoft Office) to manage system engineering deliverables.
Ability to travel occasionally for Corporate Events and Training.
~ Work with a diverse group of individuals and organizations representing public agencies, private utilities, subcontractors and suppliers.

Bachelor of Science in Engineering; Electrical Engineering Degree Preferred.
