Serves as a clinical nurse leader for a defined program or area of nursing practice. Utilizes specialized knowledge and advanced clinical skills across key focus areas, including patient and family care, nursing practice, and organizational or system-level improvement. Partners with the nurse manager to support and advance clinical practice within the assigned area. This role represents the journey-level position for an advanced practice Clinical Nurse Specialist.

Minimum of two (2) years of recent clinical RN experience in a relevant specialty area

Flexibility to orient and work across all UCSF Medical Center locations

Advanced interpersonal skills, including the ability to educate, train, and provide direction to nursing staff and build effective relationships with patients, families, staff, and external partners

Bachelor’s degree or Master’s entry-level degree in Nursing from an accredited program

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California

Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program

Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or licensure/certification in an advanced practice nursing discipline (e.g., Nurse Practitioner)
