Position Information
The International Student and Scholar Program Coordinator is responsible for programming that fosters the success and well‑being of our international community. This includes identifying needs, developing learning outcomes, and designing and delivering professional intercultural and support programs that facilitate the educational, professional, and personal success of international students and scholars at UCR.

In accordance with federal regulations demanding orientation, informational, and cultural sessions for F‑1 and J‑1 students and scholars, the program coordinator is tasked with ensuring compliance with these requirements.

The coordinator will also contribute to outreach and campus training initiatives that equip faculty, staff, and students with necessary resources and skills to effectively contribute to an international campus environment.

Salary range: $56,000.00 - $96,400.00 annually (expected pay scale: $56,000.00 - $66,100.00). Applicants must have current work authorization; immigration sponsorship not available.

Requirements
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

Advanced Degree (Preferred)
Advanced degree in Student Affairs/Higher Education or another related field.

Experience Requirements
4-7 years of related experience.

Experience working with international students and scholars; demonstrated knowledge of their adjustment and support needs.

Experience in programming and event coordination/management.

Experience developing, facilitating, and evaluating support programs, intercultural training, and orientation programs for international students or scholars.

Experience living, working, or studying abroad.

Minimum Requirements

Skill in communicating effectively and professionally using tact and diplomacy.

Knowledge of international students’ and scholars’ support needs.

Knowledge of advising/counseling techniques through an intercultural lens.

Skills in judgment and decision‑making, problem solving, identifying measures of system performance, and actions to improve performance.

Ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.

Compassion and strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and ownership of projects.

Ability to market programs and events.

Demonstrated ability to build and create community.

Preferred Qualifications

Skilled with virtual online platforms, social media and website content management.

Understanding of University rules and regulations and knowledge of University processes and procedures.

Ability to speak a second language.

Strong knowledge of common University‑specific computer application programs and risk assessment.
