Sentara Leigh Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Intermediate Care Unit (Stepdown)

Up to $20,000 Sign-On Bonus for Qualified Applicants! Hours Full Time (36 hr/week), Premium Shift Differential!
The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
The Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) is a 24-bed stepdown unit for patients with medical and surgical diagnoses.The predominant patient population includes but is not limited to acute CVAs, ventilator dependent patients-weaning and non-weaning, GI bleeds, chronic renal failure, newly diagnosed and chronic diabetes, general abdominal surgery, thoracic surgery and those diagnoses that require frequent monitoring.

This unit welcomes new graduate nurses and experienced nurses moving into this specialty. For new graduates, this TTP program is the start of a comprehensive 6-month residency program to support your transition to practice.
Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
Students in the process of completing an accredited nursing program.

Registered nursing License (Required)
Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License.

Sentara Leigh Hospital , located in Norfolk, VA, is a 274-bed acute care facility that opened in 1903 and relocated to its present site in 1977.
