School Bus (Diesel) Mechanic - Full Time

Diagnose, repair, and maintain specialty vehicles and trucks including but not limited to work on electrical systems, diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, drivetrains, etc. Also responsible for small repairs on engine attachments, body leaks/repairs, parts ordering, documentation, and record keeping, reviewing DVIRs, completing recalls, moving units as necessary, general assistance and training. This position requires the employee to understand service department standards including technician efficiency and productivity.

Ability to diagnose and repair all systems in buses and other assets.

This position will be required to understand the performance of maintenance and repairs on gas- and diesel-powered vehicles as well as all other systems and components found within the vehicle.

Technicians must be able to request parts needed to complete repairs including the ability to read technical drawings and understand parts catalogs.

This position requires the ability to effectively communicate with other techs, supervisors, managers and potentially customers.

Class A or B CDL or the ability to obtain.

Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) or as required.

Ability to pass medical examination.

Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with a wide range of management styles within the Company and build community relationships.

Strong writing skills using good spelling, punctuation, grammar; detail-oriented in editing written documents; ability to present numerical and statistical data effectively; Planning and Organizing: Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to ensure the timely completion of projects and development of realistic action plans.

Quality: Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness and monitor own work to ensure quality.

Demonstrated ability to consistently be at work and on time as scheduled, follow instructions, respond to management direction, and solicit feedback to improve performance.
