The Idaho Division of Veterans Services (IDVS) has an opening for a fulltime Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at the Idaho State Veterans Home in Boise.

The ideal candidate in this role will perform practical nursing care or assist a Registered Nurse or Physician in a long-term care facility setting.

We guarantee hours to full-time employees regardless of census.

Night shift employees earn an additional 15% shift differential.

Evening shift employees earn an additional 10% shift differential.

Performs practical nursing care or assists a registered nurse or physician in routine to complex situations.

Observes, records, and reports residents’ treatment, care, symptoms, physical and mental condition, behavior and progress.

Interview residents to obtain health information and instructs and counsels residents regarding basic health needs.

Teaches residents and their families the importance of proper diet, proper positioning, range‑of‑motion exercises, transfer techniques, and personal hygiene procedures.

Charts administered medications, symptoms, accidents, unusual behavior, doctors’ visits and observed side effects of drugs.

Orders lab and x‑ray work under physician’s orders.

Requires current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse or state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse pursuant to the Nurse Licensure Compact, Idaho Code 54-1418.
