Plasma Center Nurse- LPN

Job Description Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reporting to the Plasma Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and working under the Center Physician for medical issues. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis results. Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results, notifying donors of unsuitable results. Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs, follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical guidance, including unacceptable findings and donor safety issues. Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation under occupational health, following EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, supporting investigations of pandemic threats within the local community. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements. Current license or certification as LPN or LVN in the state of assignment. Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy. Complete FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years clinical or hospital experience.
