Travel RN - ICUAmerican TravelerFlorence, Alabama, United StatesPosition status: OpenAssignment type: travelShift: NightsLength (weeks): 13Openings: 1Start date: 2026-10-19$1,823.44/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring 5 years of critical care experience and AHA certifications.DetailsWork in the Critical Care Services unit (2nd Floor) of a Level 3 trauma facilityCritical Care/Intensive Care specialty treating adult and geriatric patientsPatient ratios vary by unit: CCU 1:2-1:3, CVICU 1:2-1:3, CCSD 1:4-1:5, Med-Surg 1:6Common diagnoses include respiratory failure, strokes, STEMI/NSTEMI, cardiogenic shock, septic shock, GI bleeds, and post-surgical careUses SpaceLabs bedside monitoring, Baxter/Spectrum IV pumps, Hill-Rom critical care beds, ventilators, Prismaflex CRRT machines, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, Blanketrols, Arctic Sun, and Zoll monitoringUtilizes Meditech EHR with clinical access for ICU patientsNight shift schedule from 7p-7a with every other weekend requiredNo on-call requirementsHome unit is CCU with floating required to CVICU, Critical Care Step-Down, and Med-Surg as neededRequirementsActive RN license (AL or Compact) currently in handMinimum 5 years of experience requiredCurrent certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSSProficiency in IV starts, blood draws, NG tube placement, ECG rhythm interpretation, lab/ABG interpretation, critical care drips and titrationsExperience managing ventilators, arterial lines, chest tubes, and central venous lines including large-volume Vas CathsExperience assisting with bedside procedures and conscious sedation requiredSmartphone required for physician communication via TigerConnect appCompletion of online learning modules including NIHSS, ACLS/BLS, Moderate Sedation/Analgesia, iStat and glucometer certificationsSocial Security number and date of birth required for considerationAdditional InformationAssist physicians with bedside procedures and conscious sedation in a high-acuity critical care environmentCommunicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teamsPrior experience in a teaching hospital with resident physicians preferredExperience managing advanced skills such as CRRT, IABP, and arterial sheath pulls preferredPrior experience in SICU, MICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU, or PCU/Med-Surg preferredRoyal blue scrub pants required; neutral colored solid or facility-logo tops permittedMust reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this assignmentCannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 monthsMust not be employed elsewhere full-time during the assignmentHours per week: 36Hours per shift: 12
