Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Three 12-hour shifts per week; two weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
Deliver attentive and compassionate care to patients on a 20-bed Neuro Med/Surg unit with a 6:1 patient ratio
Perform and maintain IV starts, basic wound care, surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
Utilize unit equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, and bladder scanners
Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system
Conduct bedside shift reports and actively include patients and family members in the plan of care
Float to other units as directed per contract labor floating policy
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
Current BLS certification
Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience
Ability to prioritize care and multitask in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with IV insertion and management of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience in a Neurology or Neuro Med/Surg setting
Familiarity with Meditech electronic health records documentation
Experience working in a Comprehensive Stroke or Trauma Center environment
