Responsibilities

Draw quality blood samples from patients across all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
Prepare specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with established practices and procedures.
Explain procedures to patients to foster a comfortable and trusting environment.
Verify patient demographic information, including initials and signatures post-venipuncture, to ensure proper labeling and identification.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to specimen collection and processing.
Create a safe, professional, and positive environment for patients and staff.
Perform specimen collection and processing duties with confidence, following all safety and procedural standards.
Travel between multiple locations as needed, including Patient Service Centers and in-office collection sites, with minimal notice.
Support process excellence and confidentiality, demonstrating leadership behaviors in daily activities.
Required Skills

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills to explain procedures clearly and build rapport with patients.
Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
Basic keyboard and data entry proficiency for accurate record keeping.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections, required.
• Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment is highly preferred.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver license, and a clean driving record if travel is involved.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate openly with patients and team members.
