Cleaner | weekends | Overnight Shift

This full-time role offers independence in your daily tasks, support from experienced supervisors, and opportunities to grow your career with SUNY and New York State.
As a Cleaner, you will perform a variety of building and custodial tasks including:

Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and cleaning restrooms.
Collecting trash, moving furniture, and making minor repairs.
Performing building and grounds tasks such as snow and ice removal.
Safely and properly using various equipment and cleaning products.
Occasionally working outdoors in inclement weather.
Performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs in and around facilities and grounds.
Working nights, weekends, and on holidays as needed.
Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM (summer hours may vary).

ASTP offers both traineeships and certificate programs in hands-on trades such as carpentry, electrical work, masonry and plastering, and plumbing and Steam fitting. Additional online programs are available, covering topics like business writing, communication, organizational skills, problem-solving, and courses including Microsoft Office, programming, and web design. Employees can also participate in on-campus training, seasonal assignments, and promotional opportunities in areas like Grounds, HVAC, Carpentry, Painting, and Electrical. Must be able to work safely and efficiently in an environment containing caustic chemicals and cleaning materials, as well as dust and noise.
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience working with cleaning equipment and chemicals.
Experience working with and serving diverse populations.
