Description: UNIT DETAILS: Diagnoses include, but are not limited to, chest pain, hip/knee surgery, altered mental status, small bowel obstruction, urinary tract infection, respiratory distress, pancreatitis, pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, congestive heart failure, sepsis, acute kidney injury, encephalopathy, ascites, COVID-19, and anemia. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. Floating within facility/scope of practice may be necessary as needed. Travelers may be expected to work major holidays during their assignment. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. The unit has an average daily census of 26. Staffing support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary. Patient age groups consist of adults and geriatrics. Patient ratios are maintained at 6 patients per nurse during day and night shifts.
