American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring prior charge experience and 2 years of relevant nursing experience.

Work in the Cardiac Telemetry unit of a hospital setting

Adult to geriatric patient population with post-MI, heart failure, arrhythmias, chest pain, and peripheral vascular disease cases

16-bed unit with a 1:5 patient ratio and average daily census of 16

Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30

6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period

Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed

No on-call requirements

Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR documentation systems

Active GA or Compact RN license required

Current certifications: BLS, ACLS (NIHSS preferred)

Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required

Previous charge nurse experience required

1:5 patient ratio experience required

Epic charting system experience required

Experience with telemetry, EKG, and Doppler required

Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care

IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including central line, PICC line, and blood product administration

Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management

Experience with cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, and heparin protocols

Genitourinary/renal care experience including continuous bladder irrigation and hemodialysis management

Provide direct patient care for cardiac telemetry patients including monitoring, medication management, and emergency response

Navy blue scrubs required

Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with all RTO finalized at time of submission

No RTO requests permitted during orientation week

Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period

Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Permanent, PRN, or internal staff must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before applying as a traveler

Returning travelers who were previously cancelled or not approved to return must complete one assignment outside the health system before reapplying
