Job SummaryThe Reliability Engineer II position builds upon foundational reliability engineering responsibilities, taking greater ownership of specific reliability and maintenance programs. This role independently leads initiatives to optimize machine operating time, improve uptime and reliability, and reduce the failure rate of equipment and machinery. The Engineer II will also focus on optimizing equipment maintainability, extending equipment life, and introducing engineering solutions that improve operator effectiveness and expedite maintenance services. Beyond technical functions, this individual performs more advanced engineering and specialist functions within the maintenance department, working collaboratively to establish partnerships with Maintenance and Operations counterparts and engage in cross-functional, customer-focused activities to achieve long-term reliability goals and reduce overall operational costs.Manage a Failure Reporting, Analysis, and corrective Action System (FRACAS) process, including weekly downtime reporting and monthly FRACAS meetings with action plans for high downtime assets affecting OEE.Manage the preventive and predictive maintenance programs, including PM Optimization reviews, criticality assessments, predictive routes, NDT, and precision maintenance best practices.Manage the lubrication process to improve OEE of critical assets.Manage lubrication sampling program, including developing and tracking plans for out-of-spec asset lubrication.Manage machine lubrication technician position and audit program performance.Maintain and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the department.Audit maintenance practices and implement changes to improve performance.Develop, maintain, and document workflows for maintenance processes (e.g., work request, work orders, planning, scheduling, purchase req's, work order completion).Perform other job duties as assignedQualifications RequiredBachelor’s Degree in Engineering2+ years demonstrated industrial manufacturing experience, preferably in a continuous manufacturing process.2+ years of plant maintenance experience2+years of experience in maintenance and reliability improvementAble to be certified in Level 1 Thermography, Vibration Analysis 1 and Machinery Lubrication Technician 1 within 2 years of employmentIntermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.Knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, lubrication.Knowledge of vibration analysis, thermal imaging, Oil Analysis, Non-destructive testing, and laser alignmentAbility to read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints, schematics, P&IDS and equipment manuals.Demonstrated ability to develop, prioritize, and execute plans to deliver results on multiple projects.Small capital project management skills.General Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExcellent interpersonal skillsStrong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracyAbility to handle multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to work effectively in a team environmentAble to influence and lead others over whom he/she has no direct authority.Able to work under limited supervision make independent judgement and decisions as necessary.Technical Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAdvanced knowledge of CMMS/Inventory Management software.Intermediate proficiency in G suiteSmall to medium (less than 50k budget ) capital project management capabilityKnowledge of probability and statistical modeling, and prediction reliability tools.Knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, lubrication.Advanced proficiency using root cause analysis to troubleshoot and solve problemsKnowledge of and experience using Predictive Maintenance (PdM) tools & techniques used in Oil Analysis, Thermography, and UltrasoundKnowledge of reliability-centered maintenance analysis processes including asset criticality assessments, failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) and PM optimization.Knowledge of precision maintenance technologies for assembling and maintaining machinery to tight tolerancesStrong problem solving and analytical skillsAbility to follow machine blueprints, diagrams, sketches, and maintenance standard operating proceduresAwareness of operational processes and how maintenance activities can impact themFamiliar with standard manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedurePhysical DemandsStationary Position - OccasionallyMove/Traverse - FrequentlyStationary Position/Seated -Transport/Lifting - FrequentlyTransport/Carrying - FrequentlyExerting Force/Pushing - FrequentlyExerting Force/Pulling - FrequentlyAscend/Descend - FrequentlyBalancing - OccasionallyPosition Self/Stooping - FrequentlyPosition Self/Kneeling - FrequentlyPosition Self/Crouching - FrequentlyPosition Self/Crawling - FrequentlyReaching - ConstantlyHandling - ConstantlyGrasping - FrequentlyFeeling - OccasionallyCommunicate/Talking - OccasionallyCommunicate/Hearing -Repetitive Motions - FrequentlyCoordination - FrequentlyWorking ConditionsExtreme cold - FrequentlyExtreme heat - FrequentlyHumid - FrequentlyWet - FrequentlyNoise - FrequentlyHazards - FrequentlyTemperature Change - FrequentlyVibration -Travel Requirements: 20%Base salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses.
