NRI Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for a Temp-to-Hire opportunity with a respected specialty medical practice in Washington, DC.

The ideal candidate will be a dependable healthcare professional with strong clinical and administrative skills who thrives in a fast-paced patient care environment. Previous dialysis or nephrology experience is highly preferred but not required.

Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program

Minimum of one (1) year of recent Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting

Proficient in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems

Excellent communication and patient care skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a healthcare team

Experience in dialysis, nephrology, or chronic disease management

Experience with vital signs, specimen collection, EKGs, and phlebotomy

Familiarity with insurance verification and prior authorizations

Patient Care

Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints

Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and other clinical duties within scope of practice

Prepare and stock examination rooms

Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment

Monitor and maintain clinical supplies and inventory

Ensure proper infection control and safety procedures are followed

Assist with coordination of patient care and follow-up appointments

Administrative Responsibilities

Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and assist with front-office support when needed

Compliance & Quality

Adhere to OSHA safety standards and infection prevention protocols

Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain a high standard of patient care

30.00 per hour
