Position Title: Lead Custodian

Job Goal: To uphold the Mission Statement of the Findlay City Schools and Department.

Evaluation: Annually in accordance with Board's policy.

Salary per Board approved contract.

Education and Training:

High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Such alternatives to the above Education and Training as the Board may find appropriate and public sector acceptable.

Dust mopping, sweeping, wet mopping, stripping, refinish, and spray buff floors, using appropriate equipment.

Scrub, clean, and disinfect restrooms meeting cleaning standards, stocking them with towels, soap, toilet paper, feminine products, and miscellaneous items as required.

Dust and clean walls, doors, windows, woodwork, vents and other above-floor surfaces.

Vacuuming furniture and drapes as needed.

Dust, clean, and polish furniture.

Notify the Facilities Director of equipment and facilities needing repair or replacement.

Remove trash and cleaning of trash receptacles.

Provide snow removal as required, reporting all unsafe conditions to management.

Set-ups and moving furniture as required.

Checks security of building – locking and unlocking doors, closing windows, turning all lights off, etc.

Conducts on-going program of general maintenance, making minor repairs as needed, reporting major repairs as needed to management.

Remains on the premises as needed by the principal during school hours and non-school hours when the building has been authorized for use, with approval of the Facilities Director, or other authorized Administrators.

Requisitions supplies and equipment as needed.

Assist in determining the need for special project work to be performed.

Responsible for conducting and documenting on-the-job training for custodians.

Perform routine daily checks of custodian assigned areas for compliance with the Custodian Guidelines.

Adheres to Board policy.
