Barry McTiernan & Moore’s Manhattan office is currently seeking an experienced Attorney to join our General Litigation group. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years practicing in the areas of premise liability defense and property claims. To be considered the experienced attorney must possess experience in all phases of pre-trial litigation as well as strong organization, writing and analytical skills. Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including discovery,

Meticulous compliance with firm and client billing and reporting guidelines.

Conduct complex legal research and discovery.

Draft discovery demands and responses, motions, case evaluations summaries, settlement agreements, pleadings, and legal memoranda and other case handling materials in response to client guidelines.

Review and analyze Notices of Claim, police reports, accident reports, medical records, and other relevant documents to prepare for hearings.

Expert experience with the New York General Municipal Law, CPLR, and City agency procedures.

Superior case management and advocacy skills.

Experience drafting briefs and pleadings. Minimum of 3 years admitted and practicing as an Attorney in NY in a defense firm, labor law is a plus but not required. Demonstrates experience with 50h-hearings and cases involving false arrest, police misconduct, and civil rights claims.

Prior experience conducting 50-h hearings or depositions including false arrest, police, excessive force, and related municipal defense work.
