Inova Maternal Fetal Medicineis looking for a Diabetes Nurse (RN) Educatorto join ourteam. This position will support Prenatal patients diagnosed with Diabetes.

Diabetes Nurse Educator Job Responsibilities:

Reviews patient care standards and patient education programs while assisting with the identification of patient variances.

Serves as a role model, clinical resource, and mentor to other healthcare team members.

Delegates patient care activities to other members of the team and redirects clinical activities to respond to changes in volume and emergent care needs.

Assists in the marketing of Inova Health System VNA Home Health services to Inova departments/operating units, physicians, consumers and the community through the development of promotional materials, presentations, health fairs, in-services and seminars.

Participates in the planning of a department-sponsored community or professional program and presents annually.

Assists in the implementation of practice improvement initiatives, as evidenced by documentation and observation of clinical practice.

Hours:Full-time, M-F(regular office hours, 8am-4:30pm with some flexibility needed)

Maternal Fetal Medicine Office/ Willow Oak Fairfax

Education : Bachelors Degree in Nursing

Experience : 1 year of Registered Nurse or 250 hours of DSME/T

Certified Diabetes Educator: must complete CDE within 18-24 months of employment/ eligible to sit for CDE within 1 year of employment; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN License

Obstetrics or Endocrinology experience preferred
