Production Welder/Welder Trainee

This position performs production within prescribed codes, and according to prescribed procedures, specifications, and drawings. Must complete Welder Training Programby passing a GMAW 2G qualification weld test that meets visual and bend testing acceptance criteria. As an applicant, a 2F Evaluation will be administered to determine skillset and knowledge base before being offered the Welder Trainee position.
Sabre specific safety guidelines will be taught on site.
Wears required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Works Independently with minimal supervision on assignments. Flexible and Adaptable: has the ability to readily switch tasks when directed.
Sabre's quality expectations and application in the workplace will be taught during onboarding and On the Job Training.
Adjust welding machines within parameters of welding procedure specifications (WPS).
Uses oxy-fuel torch to pre-heat parts to be welded in accordance with welding procedure specifications (WPS).
Uses GMAW welding process to weld small components or assemblies.
Uses magnetic drills to drill various size holes on pole assembly as required by drawings.
Proper usage will be taught during training.
Work in your shift as scheduled
Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred
GMAW or Metal Core Welding experience preferred.
Must be able to stand 100% of scheduled shift. Lifting, pushing, prying, and dragging heavy materials, up to 50 pounds.
Must possess adequate hand-eye coordination, dexterity and stamina to sustain expected production effectively.
Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials.
