Health Care Nurse

Registered NurseThe Registered Nurse implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person. Nursing practices are based on evidence and current research, hospital policies, and professional guidelines. Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity. Promotes nursing excellence through relationships among nursing staff and across disciplines. Coordinates, ensures, and provides direct patient care activities. Provides patient and family-centered education. Coordinates care and develops individualized treatment plans as applicable. Performs and documents comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with established policies. Considers the patient's culture, age, and developmental level. Identifies patient risk factors and presenting complaints. Obtains health information from family or others as necessary. Collects objective and subjective data for thorough patient evaluations. Implements patient care therapies and procedures according to established policies and guidelines. Documents ongoing assessments and responses to therapies according to hospital policy. Delegates tasks and oversees team members in the performance of patient care activities. Monitors the accuracy and completeness of delegated care provided by other team members. Assures nursing excellence in accordance with accepted standards and evidence-based practice. Actively participates in quality improvement activities and compliance measures such as patient satisfaction and safety audits.
