Do you take pride working with a company that is committed to being a great corporate citizen and playing a role in producing the highest quality products and services?Founded in 1948 by John Pridgeon and Donald Clay, we are one of the largest independent, value-added manufacturers and suppliers of automotive stamped and fine-blanked components in the United States.Objective: The Information Technology Tier 1 Help Desk Specialist provides essential end user support over the phone, through remote management and in-person to internal staff.High School Diploma or equivalent experienceEnrollment in a Degree/Certification program in Information Technology (or a related field)1 to 2 years' experience working with personal computers in a technical/desktop support capacity Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint)Ability and desire to work in a team-based environmentExcellent communication and leadership skillsAn outstanding work record, including attendanceOutstanding candidates will possess the following Desired Requirements:Completed coursework in Information TechnologyPrevious experience troubleshooting/configuring hardware and software within a corporate computing environmentCustomer Service experience(Minimum requirements are updated annually to meet the demands of various positions; Essential Functions:Help Desk Service:Respond to all end-user support requests via helpdesk call line, walk ups and on line submission.Log all incoming calls & user requests into help desk software application and update existing action items as priorities change within the team.Perform Preventative Maintenance to all technology within the Grand Rapids facilities.Provide level 1 computer support via proxy and on-site service to all locations as necessary.Develop and maintain Asset Management trackingBuild and rebuild computers including the installation of software packages for P&C deployment.Assist with installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of hardware, including cabling, printers, conference room computers, video equipment, scanners, and two-way radios.Perform data analysis, metric tracking and project management, as needed.Organization:Develop and maintain work instructions for IT Knowledge Base.Organize and maintain efficiency of personal work area and 5S zone. Complete projects within agreed time period.
