Temp/Travel -Registered Nurse (RN) HOME HEALTH (Nights)

Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel) in Carbondale, Illinois. Start date 09/07/2026 for a 13-week assignment on a hospital Med/Surg unit. Nights shift with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Weekly pay ranges from $1,980 to $2,061 per week. This travel assignment places you on a 25-bed medical-surgical unit handling a broad patient mix, including stroke care and various post-operative cases. Patients may require wound care, drains, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and IV infusions such as heparin drips.

Contract duration: Shift: Nights (12-hour shifts)

Hospital Med/Surg unit with diverse patient population

Provide direct, bedside nursing care on a Med Surg unit with a focus on stroke and postoperative patients; Administer medications and IV therapies (including heparin drips), perform wound care, manage drains, chest tubes, and feeding tubes; Conduct comprehensive assessments, document findings in the electronic health record, and update care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team

Support CIWA protocols, monitor for acute kidney injury (AKI), dialysis needs, and COPD exacerbations; Maintain patient safety and comfort, communicate with physicians and family members, and ensure compliance with unit policies and evidence-based practices

Adhere to unit staffing ratios (5:1 on days; 5-6:1 on nights); participate in three 12-hour shifts per week and every-other weekend and every-other holiday schedule

Current Illinois Registered Nurse license

stroke-care experience or stroke certification preferred

Ability to work nights and three 12-hour shifts per week; availability for every-other weekend and holiday

Experience on medical-surgical units with exposure to stroke care, post-operative patients, and complex conditions is preferred
