Quality Engineer

Our client has six of its own production facilities on three continents and over 50 years of experience, dedicated to the creation of innovative solutions that meet the needs of modern mobility through the creation of automotive gears and parts. OEMs and First Tier Suppliers all over the world trust in their customized components and systems for automotive applications. They have the capabilities to partner with their customers at every project stage; from design, engineering and prototyping through testing and validation to series production and stock management.

Currently, our client is looking to employ a Quality Engineer based out of Columbus, Indiana. The Quality Engineer will leverage strong technical and communication skills. This position will report directly to the Quality Manager.

Communicate to customer status of concerns and quality issues

• Generate, review and finalize 8D reports for customer and internal issues
• Coordinate internal / external sorting activities for customer quality issues
• Interpret and understand customer parts drawings
• Track and order gages for new product launch, along with general project management skills
• Understands and able to communicate customer specific requirements
• Work closely with all areas of the plant to solve problems
• Ability to keep information confidential

Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or an Associates degree with work related experience would also be considered

• Experience with the automotive industry, especially automotive components
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
